چکیده
Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy H. pylori Stool Antigen (HpSA) test keeping histopathology as gold standard.
Study Design: This a cross sectional observational study.
Place and Duration: was performed from Jan 2015 Mar 2020 at Najran Armed Forces Hospital, kingdom Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: Total 151 patients in whom HpSA done were included study. They followed for their results on gastric biopsies.
Results: Among 85(56.3%) females 66 (43.7%) males. Mean age 40 years. Forty three (28.5%) positive both histology, Fifteen (9.9%) but negative histology. Twenty two (14.6%) they Seventy one (47%) sensitivity specificity 66.1% 82.5% respectively. Positive predictive value (PPV) 74.1% (NPV) 76.3% HpSA. Diagnostic 75.5%.
Conclusion: Keeping view low cannot be used screening tool all patients, however it can clinical correlation setups where other tests are not available due simplicity its use, cost easy repeatability

Comparison of stool antigen test with gastric biopsy for the detection of Helicobacter Pylori infection
OBJECTIVE Helicobacter Pylori (H.pylori) is one of the most important causes of dyspepsia and diagnosis can be made by invasive or non-invasive methods. One of the non-invasive methods, H.pylori stool antigen test (HpSA) is simple, fast and relatively inexpensive. According to this view with regard to gastric biopsy as a gold standard the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predicti...

Background and Aims: Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori) is the microorganism that infects nearly half of word's population. There are several invasive and non-invasive methods for diagnosis of infection. The main objective of this study was to evaluate antigen of H. Pylori in feces with H. pylori stool antigen (HpSA) test and comparison with rapid urease test (RUT) in the patients suspected to be ...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of Polyclonal Stool Antigen for Detection of Helicobacter Pylori Infection in Children
Introduction: Helicobacter pylori infection has various clinical features. One of the most common presentations of this infection is upper abdominal pain. Complications such as gastritis, gastric ulcer, gastric carcinoma and MALT lymphoma mandate early diagnosis of H.P infection by a low cost and non invasive manner. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic role of H.P stool antige...
متن کاملComparison of polymerase chain reaction and histopathology for the detection of Helicobacter pylori in gastric biopsies.
Using data from a Venezuelan cohort of 1,948 adults, the gastric detection of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of the vacA gene in 1 antral biopsy was compared to the detection of H. pylori by histopathology (hematoxylin-eosin and Giemsa staining) in 5 biopsies (antrum and corpus). Overall, H. pylori was detected in 85% and 95% of the subjects by PCR and histop...
متن کاملdevelopment of an arcaga antigen-based assay for the detection of helicobacter pylori in stool specimens
conclusions based on the findings, application of recombinant arcaga antigen for the detection of h. pylori infection is a simple, rapid, and brief non-invasive method. therefore, it can be suggested as an appropriate antigen for h. pylori detection kits. results we investigated caga protein, using the immunoblotting method in stool samples, which were already identified as positive by the appl...
